On Wednesday 19 March 2025, Newton Jaguars Netball Club publicly announced its name change to
NORWOOD NETBALL CLUB​

​​This significant change reflects the club's commitment to fostering a strong community spirit and enhancing player development within a unified sporting environment as part of the Norwood Football Club family.

The rebranding marks a new chapter for the club, which has a rich history of promoting netball locally and developing players to elite levels. This transition will allow the club to strengthen its existing ties to the Norwood Football Club and leverage shared resources and expertise to provide an even more enriching experience for players and supporters.

WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
​Norwood Football Club (NFC) is a South Australian icon. This agreement will assist the Norwood Netball Club in fulfilling its ambition to be the strongest netball club in South Australia. As part of the NFC family, we will have access to shared resources, and expertise and benefit from the club’s enduring reputation.

WHEN WILL WE START PLAYING AS NORWOOD?
Our first season will be Summer 25/26.
DOES ANYTHING CHANGE NOW?
​Not really. We will continue to function as we have as Newton Jaguars for the 2025 season. However, we will be working over the winter season to be ready to launch in Summer 25/26.

ARE WE STILL A PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM?
​YES. We will play the 2025 season as Newton Jaguars. We will apply to Netball SA to play as Norwood Netball Club for the 2026-2028 Premier League accreditation period.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO NEWTON JAGUARS?
​​Winter 2025 will be the last season the club plays as Newton Jaguars. The upcoming winter season will see us celebrate the club’s history. Watch out on our socials for details.

WILL THIS NEGATE THE HISTORY OF NEWTON JAGUARS?
Not at all. We will build on that history and steer the club towards an exciting future with all the benefits that come from aligning with Norwood Football Club.

I HAVE BEEN PLAYING AT JAGS FOR YEARS, WHAT HAPPENS TO MY GAMES RECORD?
It will be maintained. All current player records will transfer to the new Norwood Netball Club and, as such, any milestones will be recognised using both Jags and Norwood games.
​Going Forward...
WHAT WILL OUR COLOURS BE?
They will be based on the Norwood Football Club colours of Red and Blue. A design process is underway for uniforms and logo.
WHERE WILL THE CLUB PLAY?
​The club will continue to play in all current competitions we participate in.
HOW WILL I JOIN NORWOOD NETBALL CLUB?
​Via the same process as currently happens. You register for trials and then you play the season. Details will be announced mid-year. Click here to submit any questions.​​​​​​​​
WILL FEES CHANGE GOING TO NORWOOD?
​Fees are reviewed each season, but we do not envisage any additional increase more than normal.
WILL I HAVE TO BUY A NORWOOD UNIFORM?
​Yes. However, we will look at opportunities to subsidise this as much as possible.
DOES THE CLUB LOCATION CHANGE AT ALL?
No. The majority of teams will continue to train at our courts at Paradise. With our Premier League and AMND League/A Grade training indoors locally.
