2024 Junior Talent Squad - sponsored by The Kensi
At Jags we take our development seriously, with A LOT of fun!!
Juniors include ALL players from Net Set Go (5yo) to Junior (15&U). Intermediates (17&U) start to participate in Senior environments. For more information on Intermediates - head to our Inters & Seniors page.
Our primary focus is on the improvement of skill through enjoyment. All players need to enjoy their netball and feel valued and respected. Throughout their netball journey, we aim to provide players with a variety of opportunities to develop their skills and improve their understanding of the game. We encourage our players to take on as many opportunities they wish – we will always support our players to be the best they can be.

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT - WINTER
Winter is our main competitive season. In Winter 2025, we are introducing two new programs to build on our offerings in Summer.
Winter Trials are held in February and squads (Primary to Intermediates) will have two pre-season sessions, before formal Winter training begins in April.
Games start in early May. During the season, in addition to our normal training program, we have sessions with our Premier League Buddies, and friendlies with Morialta NC and attend carnivals such as the Mid Hills in May and the SAUCNA Junior Carnival in the July School Holidays. We are also fortunate to have access to an Adelaide Thunderbird player through the NSA Premier League club-aligned player program.

SUB-PRIMARY & PRIMARY:
Development will occur during their weekly training sessions and games.

SUB JUNIORS & JUNIORS:

DEVELOPMENT
Our development program - POWER UP! is for ALL Sub Junior, Junior & Intermediate players not involved in Pathway Programs. It will include a combination of weekly fitness and specialist sessions, in addition to normal team training. Program attendance is encouraged but not compulsory (especially if undertaking other fitness/sport). Sessions will be held on Thursday nights, starting in early May 2025.

PATHWAYS
Junior Talent Squad (JTS): This program is the first step in our elite athlete pathways. Appropriately aged players in the AMND Sub Junior 1 and Junior 1 & 2 teams are automatically selected with additional players from the Junior and Sub Junior cohort selected from trials or identified by the program selection panel.
We are proud of our programs and review them continually to match the growth and development of our players.

ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING OUR JUNIOR PROGRAMS – juniorcoordinator@newtonjaguars.com.au

We add value to these programs by developing and supporting our coaching team. We have mentor coaches and coaching director who provides in-season assistance including access to Premier League coaching staff. Furthermore, the club provides coaches with in-house development and opportunities to achieve Netball Australia accreditation.
We are continually reviewing and developing our practices to ensure we can provide the best to our
coaches and players.
